Central America - Panama Pavilion

Travel, culture and commerce were the main themes in this open-sided building sponsored by Panama and the five Central American Common Market countries; Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Most of the exhibition was devoted to displays of both ancient (gold and ceramic objects fashioned by Indians before the days of Cortez) and modern art. A curio shop sold wooden figurines, silver jewelry, small archeological relics and recordings of Central American music.

The area's tourist attractions, its beach resorts, jungle and mountain regions, Myan ruins and Spanish colonial towns, were shown in a short color film.
