Austria Pavilion

Austria's pavilion was in the shape of a mountain lodge, suspended 15 feet above the ground from three soaring A-shaped supports. Beside the pavilion stood a 55 foot stainless steel abstract sculpture. Beneath the pavilion were other contemporary sculptures and a large photographic exhibit of the SOS Children's Villages, which were settlements for homeless children.

Inside the exhibit hall were brilliant color transparencies of Vienna's baroque splendors and Saltzburg's elegant opera performances. Music by Mozart and Strauss played in the background while visitors admired Austria's exhibits of products; ski equipment, toys and petit point handbags. A detailed model of its new steel plant for manufacturing steel cheaply was also on display.
